not so happy week

I should be posting pictures of Christmas and all the other cute ones I had in my camera to blog but it will not be happening!! Last Thursday I left my house about 11:30 am with the kids and 12:04 someone ran out our front door carrying: 2 laptops, 3 i-pods, all my 'real' jewelry, my camera and my video camera all in Omar's gym bag along with his running shoes! They broke a back kitchen window took what they wanted and left. The motion sensors on our alarm, that were set, did not go off. When they left out my front door the door sensor tripped the alarm and I got a call from the police telling me to come home! So we have been dealing with police reports, an insurance claim, long heated calls with the alarm company over the alarm not working and cleaning up finger printing dust (that stuff is messy)!! What a pain! Then a fun stomach bug hit-- our luck has not been so hot! After all that we managed to have a nice Christmas- how can you not with a 2 & 3 year old?!?! Soon we will have a new camera and be up and running!!

RARE, precious moments...

trying out Sienna's new toddler bed while daddy was working

I am not going to pretend this is the norm but I am happy for the short sweet moments when the fighting ceases and they love eachother!

Baby Jesus

Since we have gotten the Christmas stuff out we have been talking to Sienna a lot about baby Jesus, she loves to play with our little nativity and I am always finding it set up in different ways... it is one of my new favorite things!

everyone lined up to see baby Jesus

gathered around the baby

then one day I found this on the couch and asked Sienna what it was, she said, "SHH, baby Jesus is sleeping!"

I find her playing right here quietly often!

Nothing like children helping us remember the true meaning of Christmas!!

The Santa Party

Every year my dad's side of the family has a fun Christmas party and Santa is the highlight of the night.

As soon as Santa arrived Malachi was mesmerized and followed him around.

and just stared

Blizzard 2010?!?

So Utah was just hit with the biggest blizzard of the last 20 something years or wait, that is what the warning was that made stores sell out of flashlights and propane. We all waited and... at least we got some snow for the kids to play in... but no major blizzard!

and this is how my SD surfer dresses to go out after a major blizzard!

our thanks!

We had a great Thanksgiving this year, but the pictures are few...
We had very casual breakfast at our house with my family, the dad's played in a turkey bowl in the snow, the kids played, we watched Christmas movies and looked at the ads.

Later we went to Grandma Vawdrey's for a fabulous dinner! What a great weekend to have so much time with Omar and just relax and enjoy our family-- the greatest blessing!!
