San Diego

My lack of picture taking in June was made up for in a week in San Diego in July!

My kids rode back to San Diego with Grandma Maria and Aunt Cynthia to stay for a few days while I went to Girl's Camp, then I flew there to play and then bring them home.

The kids are finally to the age of LOVING the beach!

they of course love digging and getting dirty

Malachi was pretty unsure about the waves so he was my little buddy most of the time we were by the water

Sienna on the other hand could not get enough

Happy 4th!

we rode the little train at balboa park one morning

they loved it, but both wanted to sit by me so it was impossible to get pictures of the ride

I was trying to get them to pose by it but this was their idea

then we rode the merry-go-round

he LOVED it!

and so did she!!

it is funny how kids love these little dinky rides-- after those 3 rides you would have thought I took the kids to disneyland... they are so easy to please!

one afternoon we got to swim at the 4 seasons with some

framily (friends like are more like family)

This is Tiara and Sienna playing - I helped her mom for a few years and when I first came she was just older then Sienna is now!!

Our last night we had a little family beach party

after all the time I have spent on the beach in my life, I saw my first jellyfish ever that night

Omar did not want me driving home alone with the kids, so we hitched a ride with our friend Ron in his semi- and the kids loved riding in the sleeper, watching movies and sleeping the whole way!

Our June

I am not sure where June went and what we did all month because I definitely did not pull out my camera enough.

I walked into Sienna's room one day and interupted a pretty intense school lesson- Sienna standing on her table, teaching the letters in her name to her single student!

Here is the lone student- a diaper and shoe wearing, hanger-loving 2 year old!

J turned 5 and we got to play at the aquarium with him!

we got to spend a fun day at the zoo with Macie and Kate

(obviously Mac has a favorite buddy)

Malachi found interesting ways to watch movies

and the perfect ending was that Grandma Maria and Aunt Cynthia came to visit!

and we got to take them to the zoo and ride the less than
thrilling, 1 minute train ride!
