EZEKIEL WYNN FABIAN

This boy made quite an entrance into this world!! I was so hopeful that he would take his time time coming and wait until at least my due date since it was Omar's finals week. Omar pulled 2 all-nighters studying and then took a final on Tuesday. That day I went to the OB for a check-up, I was dilated to a 4 and the Dr told me, "When your contractions are 5 minutes apart for an hour come in but DON'T WAIT TOO LONG!" So I went home and went on with normal motherhood. That night I was rushing around finishing laundry and trying to get things ready. Around 9 PM my contractions started to be 5 minutes apart, after about 45 minutes I called Omar at work and warned him that we might be going to the hospital. Since I had been running around getting things done I thought I was bringing them on so I got in the bath to see if that would calm things down. As soon as I relaxed my contractions were anything but regular so I figured false alarm. I had Omar go to bed (since he had not slept in days) and I layed on the couch having the MOST painful, irregular contractions I have ever had. Around 2 AM I woke Omar up because regular or not, the contractions were more painful than I could handle. We were throwing things in bags and I had him call our friend to come stay with the kids, as soon as Omar got off the phone my contractions were 2 minutes apart. Getting into the car at 2:30 I knew I was too late for an epidural-- the panic set in!! I have never wanted to have a baby without an epidural and I had never prepared in anyway for it! As we made the not so short drive to the hospital I screamed through every contraction and Omar seemed calm and collected running every red light he came to. About 3 minutes from the hospital I started feeling like I needed to push, as I screamed that Omar looked at me in horror and I could tell was torn whether to pull over or drive faster- luckily he opted for the latter. We pulled up to the doors and Omar had a wheelchair before I could open the door. I screamed down the hall that I was having a baby right then. The nurses jumped up and rushed us into a room . They told Omar to take me in the bathroom and get a gown on me but before they finished I had dropped my pants (with the door open) and climbed on the bed BEGGING for an edidural. The nurse quickly checked me and told me I was dilated to a 9. Omar was trying to rub my back and I was yelling at him to stop touching me, I was crying and screaming and swearing. A Dr came in and sat at the foot of my bed, I told her I needed to push and she told me to go for it. So I did and seconds later my water EXPLODED onto the poor ungowned Dr! It was the only moment of relief through this entire experience! The screaming and craziness continued and all I could seem to say was that I could not do it or that I did not want to do it! As soon as I pushed his head out one of the nurses kept saying, he's a BIG one! 20 minutes after arriving at the hospital, 3:01 AM, we had a healthy 8 pound 5 ounce, 20 inch un-named baby boy!

Seriously, this is craziness! I got goosebumps just reading your labor story! I don't know how you did it, I would have DIED! There would've been a whole lot more than swearing going on! ;-) He's so adorable! I can't wait to meet him! You're a mother of THREE! What?! Please tell me you're making a Cali trip sometime in 2013! I miss you!
